The MATCONNECT program’s purpose is to increase access to Medications for Addiction Treatment/ Medications for Opioid Use Disorder for uninsured and underinsured low-income Orange County residents

CORE SERVICES

  • Assist incarcerated individuals on MAT in transitions of care to clinic partners of MATCONNECT
  • Assist individuals using substances in establishing care with a clinic partner of MATCONNECT
  • Provide enabling services to assist patients in establishing care, including case management, transportation, telephone, and California ID Fee Waiver
  • Helping to support the clinics in establishing MAT programs by offering medical provider training and support, staff training, workflow templates, and more
  • Proving referrals to patients seeking services for our clinic partners

OPIOD-INVOLVED DEATHS IN THE UNITED STATES AND CALIFORNIA

  • In the U.S. there were 93,331 drug overdose deaths reported in 2020.
  • Opioids were involved in 69,710 overdose deaths in 2020- 75% of all overdose deaths.
  • Synthetic opioids were involved in 57,550 overdose deaths- 62% of all overdose deaths.
  • In California, there were 5,363 opioid-related drug overdose deaths in 2020. Of those, 3,857, or 72% were due to fentanyl overdose.
